One-off gelcoat restoration

Gelcoat restoration and detailing, Dénia to Águilas

Mediterranean sun, salt air and calima dust turn gelcoat chalky and dull faster than most owners expect. We cut it back, polish it out and protect it — so she looks the way she did the day you bought her.

Why boats oxidise so fast down here

It isn't neglect — it's the climate.

Relentless UV

Over 300 days of sun a year breaks down the resin at the surface of the gelcoat, leaving that dry, chalky bloom that no amount of washing shifts.

Salt and hard water

Salt spray and mineral-heavy dock water leave scale and spotting that etch into the surface if they're left to bake on.

Calima dust

Saharan dust settles as a fine abrasive film. Wiped off dry, it micro-scratches the finish and dulls the gloss over a season.

Long spells unattended

Boats left standing between owner visits get none of the routine washing that keeps oxidation at bay, so it compounds year on year.

Restoration packages

Three levels, priced per metre of length overall. Pick the one that matches the state of your gelcoat.

Full Restoration

  • Scale and mineral deposit removal
  • Deep vinyl clean, brighten and condition
  • Metal polishing and corrosion protection

Prices are per metre LOA and a minimum charge applies. Final price is confirmed once we've seen photos or looked over the boat — heavily neglected gelcoat takes more passes, and we'd rather tell you that up front.

How a detail works

Four steps, no need for you to be in the country.

Step 1

Send us photos

A few shots of the hull, topside and deck tell us how far gone the gelcoat is.

Step 2

We quote per metre

A fixed price based on length and condition, with the package that suits her.

Step 3

We book a slot

Afloat in your berth, or at a yard if she needs lifting. We handle the access.

Step 4

Photo report on completion

Before and after shots sent straight to your phone, same as every care plan visit.

Restoration questions

Restoration is the one-off. Care plans are the day job.

Most owners come to us for the regular stuff — key holding, scheduled checks and photo reports while they're back home — and add a detail once a season. Boats on a plan keep their finish far longer, and get priority booking and a reduced rate on restoration work.
